Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday’s upcoming movie Liger will be released on August 25, 2022. Liger is a sports drama written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. It marks the Bollywood debut of actor Vijay Deverakonda. The film’s advance booking is underway.
According to the trade reports, Liger has grossed nearly Rs. 1.70 crores in Telugu through an advance booking for the first day. 90,000 tickets have already been sold. Andhra Box office tweeted, “Early Advance Trends indicate a Solid Start for Telugu. Hyderabad is going almost like a Top Tier Biggie. Hindi as has been the norm these days isn’t much of an advance booking market for most films and this isn’t any exception. ₹2-4 Cr Day1 Nett expected”.
According to The Economic Times, the total advance booking stood at Rs. 3.79 crores. The movie grossed Rs. 12 lakh for Hindi, Rs. 1 lakh for Tamil and Rs. 3.66 crores for Telugu.
“I guarantee you…the movie will rock. You should shake Guntur on the 25th”, said Vijay Deverakonsa at a pre-release event of the movie at Guntur.

According to Sacnilk, “Liger will take an excellent opening in Telugu states and is expected to break the record for tier 2 actors by a good margin. But there will also be an eye on how it will perform in the Hindi belt as it is an original bilingual movie.
The tickets for the movie can be booked in advance from BookMyShow and Paytm.
The movie will be released in Hindi and Telugu alongside dubbed versions in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The filming of the movie began on January 20, 2020, in Mumbai with the tentative title Fighter. The production was halted in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The filming resumed in February 2021. The filming was delayed again in April 2021 due to the second wave of COVID-19. The shoot was resumed in September 2021.

The film was first offered to Janhvi Kapoor opposite Vijay Deverakonda but she refused the offer due to the dates, as per reports. The movie also stars Ramya Krishnan, Vish Reddy and Ronit Roy.
