Hip-hop sensation Nicki Minaj is having the time of her life as her new single, Super Freaky Girl, debuted at the top position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. After Lauren Hill in 1998, this is the first time that a female solo hip-hop artist has managed to achieve this feat.

Minaj has herself taken to Instagram to share the news with her fans:

Super Freaky Girl’s debut at number one on Billboard has become the first time that Minaj has managed to reach the spot “as an unaccompanied artist”, according to Billboard’s official website. This is also the first song by a solo female performer to debut at the chart’s peak position in 2022.
