Mridula Tripathi is soon to make her Bollywood debut, according to Pankaj Tripathi, her husband. The actor revealed that Mridula also appears in the movie, which he is getting ready to release as Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga.
Mridula did not even request payment for the cameo, according to Pankaj, who also related the tale of how she got the role. Mridula will play a Bengali character in a guest appearance.
“My wife Mridula will be making her debut with Sherdil,” Pankaj told India Today. In the movie, she appears in one scene. She was invited to the set by director Srijit Mukerjee, who is Bengali and knows my wife, and he promised to give her one scene.
As soon as she heard that she would be able to wear a stunning Bengali saree in the movie, she said yes. She wasn’t even compensated, so it was a simple bribe.
Pankaj made the disclosure after he was asked if his daughter Aashi Tripathi, who had joined him at the recent IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi, has any interest in acting. He said, “As of now she has no ambitions to enter Bollywood. She is now studying. Although I haven’t yet, I will when the time comes. I want her to focus on her studies right now and pursue athletics.”
“But she excels in literature, writes exceptionally well, and is ranked first in her class. She reads a lot as well, but as of right now, she doesn’t seem interested. We’ll have to wait and see what transpires.”
When they were both still in school, Pankaj and Mridula first connected during a wedding in 1993. Since Pankaj’s sister was already wed to Mridula’s brother and it was against tradition to have two marriages in the same family, they initially battled to persuade their parents to approve of their union. After getting hitched in January 2004, the couple welcomed their daughter Aashi in 2006.
Sherdil: The real-life incidents that occurred in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve served as the basis for the June 24 film The Pilibhit Saga. Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta also feature in the Srijit Mukherji film.
