Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan will be seen together on screen after more than a decade as the two have been roped in for the Tamil film ‘Vikram Vedha’s’ Hindi remake. The two were last seen in the same movie when they had a brief cameo in ‘Luck By Chance’ in 2009. 

 Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on Friday, tweeted,” Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan will star in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Vikram Vedha, Pushkar-Gayathri – the director duo of the original film – will direct the Hindi version too,”

The producers plan to release the film in September 2021, a PTI source said, as per Hindustan Times. 

The film will mark the Hindi debut of filmmakers Pushkar and Gayatri. The duo was the writers and directors of ‘Vikram Vedha’ that was released in 2017.

‘Vikram Vedha’ was a neo-noir thriller inspired by the Indian folktale ‘Baital Pachisi’. It starred R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. According to the PTI source, the Hindi remake will be produced by Neeraj Pandey under his company Friday Filmworks in association with Reliance Entertainment and YNot Studios, the producers behind the original.

R Madhavan played a cop named Vikram in the film while Sethupathi played gangster Vedha. Hrithik and Saif are expected to play the South Indian duo’s roles. 

Hrithik Roshan is currently working with Deepika Padukone in an action-drama called ‘Fighter’. The ‘War’ actor is also working on the fourth installment of the ‘Krrish’ franchise. 

Saif Ali Khan, on the other hand, will feature in a horror-comedy called ‘Bhoot Police’. The ‘Omkara’ actor has teamed up with Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez for the film that will elease on September 17 on Disney+ Hotstar.
