The first season came out in 2019 and immediately became popular among the
masses. With a bold title and a guarantee of sexually graphic scenes, it topped
the Netflix trending charts all around the globe. It is the first of its kind
and a rare source of information about sex in nations like India where sex
education is considered a taboo and everything surrounding it is discussed in
hush tones. In a way, we desperately needed to watch something like this.

It portrays
young adults going through trials and tribulations of sexual discovery. The
show manages to have sex as the staple of the storyline yet is not entirely
based on it. The sexual material does not take anything away from the story but
rather enhances it.

It
introduced a wide range of audience to the queer movement, asexuality,
pansexuality and wide range of gender and sexual identities.

It even helped a large
number of people to have a better understanding of their preferences through a
non-judgmental depiction of several issues.

It tackles everything from erectile dysfunction, body dysmorphia, casual sex, STIs and
sexual ethics.

The audience can relate to all the characters in some way or the
other.

In a comic manner, a teenager Otis is able to solve the sexual problems
and clear all the doubts of his schoolmates while having no sexual experience
himself.

in Bollywood.

offered something different which is a big reason behind the show’s success.
