Pedro Pascal is taking over everyone’s screens as rapidly as ever. As Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’ arrives on March 1, 2023, it has been made pretty clear that we are going to see a lot of him, and we absolutely love it! He is also currently starring in yet another Disney Plus hit series, ‘The Last of Us’, which is based on the 2013 game of the same name where Pedro plays the protagonist Joel. His career has been solidified in the book of greats and he continues to add to his accolades by appearing as the main lead in such big projects. Here are five fun and heartwarming things you must know about Pedro Pascal as you prepare for Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’.

1) The start of Pedro’s career

Pascal appeared in minor films in the mid-2000s before starring in high-profile blockbusters such as ‘The Unbearable Weight of Enormous Talent’ and ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ and hit shows like ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Last of Us’. His debut feature film was the 2005 drama ‘Hermanas’. The film is set in 1976 and follows two sisters who are separated after they flee political unrest in their native nation of Argentina. Pascal portrays Steve, a second-hand store clerk who develops feelings for one of the sisters.

2) Pedro is an LGBTQIA+ ally

Pascal is a supporter and advocate of the LGBTQ community. When his sister Lux came out as transgender in early 2021, he provided tremendous support. Lux stated in an interview with YA magazine that her brother “has been a significant part of everything. He’s also an artist who has acted as a mentor to me. He was among the first to provide me the skills that helped shape my identity.”

3) Oscar Isaac and Pedro are thick pals

Many people in this world have a best pal who completes them. For Pascal, it seems like that person is a fellow actor, Oscar Isaac.  The joy they show when they are together is apparent. Isaac characterized Pascal as his “lovely sweetheart” in an interview with Remezcla late last year. Isaac does not use social media, but Pascal usually uploads images of the two at events or when they are celebrating someone’s birthday or a holiday. In the end, it’s love – and it’s genuine.

4) Pedro still calls Grogu, ‘Baby Yoda’

That may be considered heretical among the most ardent Star Wars fandom. Yet, Pascal acknowledged – under duress from a lie detector test – that when the cameras aren’t running on ‘The Mandalorian’, he still refers to the endearing character Grogu as Baby Yoda. Pascal has known the character’s name since the beginning of Season 2. Pascal’s spirit almost left his body when he admitted to Vanity Fair that he occasionally refers to Grogu by his unofficial moniker.

5) He Was a Competitive Swimmer Before Choosing Acting

Pedro Pascal was an almost super successful swimmer before switching to acting. In fact, he competed in the Texas state finals when he was just 11 years old. He did, however, stop competing in order to devote more attention to his theatre lessons. We’ll be eternally grateful since we’re not sure our beloved programs would be the same without this amazing performer. But is there anything this man cannot do?
