Betty White passed away on December 31, 2021, at the age of 99. According to TMZ reports, neither did she have any sudden illness, nor was she suffering from any disease. Her death is believed to have been due to natural causes. 

Betty White is best known for several roles, which have made her a media pioneer. She has the record of having the longest-running career on TV for a woman. In the last eight decades, starting back in 1939, White has appeared in multiple shows. However, Betty White is perhaps most famous for playing Rose Nylund in ‘The Golden Girls’.

The sitcom follows four women who share their time together in Miami. Betty White’s character, Rose Nylund, is best known as a woman whose rambling accounts of her hometown are endured by her friends, but she’s easily the most kind-hearted among them. 

Is ‘The Golden Girls’ on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime? 

While ‘The Golden Girls’ is not on Netflix or Amazon, Hulu subscribers can enjoy seven seasons of the series. The streaming platform allows a month of free subscription, after which users have to pay to avail these services. 

Meanwhile, AppleTV users have the option to access the series through the dedicated platform. Those who use DirecTV can only stream five seasons of the show.

Among other buying options are Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, and the Microsoft Store. While all of the first three hosts seven seasons, you can only access one season of ‘The Golden Girls’ on the Microsoft Store.

In what would turn out to be Betty White’s last interview, the actress said, “I’m so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age, it’s amazing.” She also playfully added that the secret was that she avoided ‘anything green’ and it seemed to be working for her. Betty White won multiple Emmy awards and is a Lifetime Award recipient. 

The actress, who would have turned 100 on January 17, believed that the key to happiness is to ‘enjoy life’.
