was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison and a five-year supervised release in a wire fraud case after she pled guilty on January 6, 2023,

Priya Chaudhary, Shah’s attorney, said in
an interview, “Jen Shah
deeply regrets the mistakes that she has made and is profoundly sorry to the
people she has hurt.” Priya also added, “Jen will pay her debt to
society and when she is a free woman again, she vows to pay her debt to the
victims harmed by her mistakes.”

The reality TV star will be serving her sentence of 6.5 years in a prison somewhere
in Texas.

Who is Jen Shah?

Jennifer Shah Lui or Jen Shah is
an American television personality who was born on October 4, 1973, in Salt
Lake, Utah, United States of America.

Jennifer was originally a Mormon
but later converted to Islam. She is famously known for starring on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,
a reality television series which was premiered in November 2020.

Jen
got married to American football coach Sharrieff Shah in the year 1994. The
couple is the parents of two sons.

In March
2021, she was charged with conspiring to commit money laundering and wire fraud.
She was involved in a scheme of national telemarketing that defrauded hundreds and
thousands of people.

Shah pled not guilty to both charges earlier but in July
2022, she pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit wire fraud.

In the Manhattan Federal Court on January 6, 2023, Jen was sentenced
to prison for 6.5 years and five years of supervised release after getting out
of prison.

The courtroom was full during Jen’s
hearing to which U.S. District Judge Sidney Stein said, “Jen Shah’s role on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, which I guess is why the courtroom is so
full today, is just that, a role”. He also added, “People should not confuse
the character she plays on an entertainment show to the person before me.”

Shah will be beginning her sentence in a Texas prison from February 17, 2023.
