Lois Griffin, a fictional character from the animated television series Family Guy, became a target of a celebrity death hoax on TikTok and Twitter.

The character of Lois, which has been famously voiced by Alex Borstein for years, was rumored to have died. A TikTok trend made the claim that Lois Griffin is dead, leaving fans wondering if Borstein had passed away.

Alex Borstein is alive and well, and, it seems the Lois Griffin death trend was a TikTok prank. On December 26, 2022, online rumors of Lois Griffin’s death went viral, causing massive confusion as many were left wondering if the character was being removed from the show.

Lois Griffin’s character is still alive in Season 21 of the show. 

Who is Lois Griffin?

Lois Griffin is Peter Griffin’s wife on the show and the mother of Meg, Chris, and Stewie Griffin. The beloved character is voiced by actress/comedian Alex Borstein. 

The character was created and designed by series creator Seth MacFarlane.

Lois is often portrayed as a stereotypical television mother and housewife. She has also had several affairs, one of which allegedly resulted in the conception of Chris.

She was born to affluent WASP parents, Carter and Barbara Pewterschmidt. It is revealed in the episode “Family Goy” that her mother is actually a Holocaust survivor who concealed her Judaism. But, Lois was raised a Protestant.

Lois and the rest of the Griffins live in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island. She speaks with a distinctive nasally New England accent. Lois has also had various jobs in single episodes such as in “FOX-y Lady”, where she becomes the new reporter for Fox News Channel, in “It Takes a Village Idiot, and I Married One”, Lois is elected the mayor of Quahog, and in “Call Girl” Lois gets a job doing phone sex.
