Nick Foles, quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts was trolled heavily by fans and critics as the Colts took on the Los Angeles Chargers at home in the last encounter of Week 16 of NFL 2022 at Lucas Oil Stadium on Monday night.

Foles was clearly out of touch as he caught seven of his 12 attempts and was intercepted twice for 40-odd yards at the beginning of the second quarter. This performance infuriated the Colts’ fans, who were quick to slam the 33-year-old on social media.

“Every time I almost feel bad for them I remember that Nick Foles and Matt Ryan are getting paid a combined $34m this year,” wrote a user on Twitter.

“Can Nick Foles not be the worst QB of all time today ? Would really mean a lot,”a second user added.

“I’ve been a fan of Nick Foles my entire life. I’m 65 years old,” was the tongue-in-cheek comment of a third user.

“I like the Colts tonight also but Nick Foles isn’t giving me much reason for optimism,” another noted on Twitter.

The Colts are playing for pride in their remaining three encounters as they were eliminated the previous week after a remarkable 36-39 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings. However, the home side failed to keep the scorecard ticking as they struggled with their defense.

After a 0-0 score at the end of the first quarter, the Chargers raced ahead to a 7-0 lead after a touchdown by the quarterback Justin Herbert. Both sides scored three points apiece as the Chargers led 10-3 at half-time.

The victory at the Lucas Oil Stadium will mark a hat-trick of wins for the Chargers, who earlier beat the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans in their Week 14 and Week 15 encounters respectively.
