Bobby Caldwell, a songwriter with a four-decade career who is best known for his now-iconic single “What You Won’t Do For Love,” has passed away at the age of 71.

Caldwell’s health problems started about 12 years ago after he had a serious antibiotic reaction that resulted in bilateral Achilles tendon ruptures and severe neuropathy. He continued to have health issues up until the moment of his death, despite multiple treatments.

The artist is now survived by his wife Mary Caldwell and their children.

Who is Mary Caldwell?

Mary Caldwell is the wife of Bobby Cadwell. The couple got married to each other in 2004. According to her profile on LinkedIn, she is the Vice President of Bobby Caldwell Entertainment LTD.

Mary is basically from Great Meadows, New Jersey, United States. She has completed her Marketing course and MBA degree from Seton Hall University near Manhattan. After her education, Mary also served as a professor in her own college.

For 22 years from 1983, Mary Cadwell also served as a Business Manager at AT&T Global Services.

The couple and their kids were residing on a horse farm in New Jersey at the time of his demise.

Bobby passed away here at home, according to a statement issued on Caldwell’s official Twitter account on March 15, 2023.

“Bobby passed away here at home. I held him tight in my arms as he left us. I am forever heartbroken. Thanks to all of you for your many prayers over the years. He had been ‘FLOXED,’ it took his health over the last 6 years and 2 months. Rest with God, my Love. -Mary Caldwell,” the statement read.

According to TMZ, “The singer/songwriter hadn’t been able to walk for about 5 years as he coped with painful bouts of neuropathy and a torn tendon in his ankle.”

Growing up, Cadwell is said to have been influenced by the musical tastes of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. According to reports, his 30-year career in music contributed to an $8 million net worth.
