Pierce Brosnan will star as Doctor Fate in the upcoming superhero movie Black Adam, based on DC Comics. Black Adam had its world premiere in Mexico City on October 3, 2022. 

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 21, 2022, by Warner Bros. Pictures. 

Doctor Fate is a superhero appearing in DC Comics. The character made his first comic-book appearance in 1940, five years before the titular Black Adam, making him only a year younger than Batman and Superman. 

Who is Pierce Brosnan?

Pierce Brendan Brosnan is an Irish actor and film producer. He was born on May 16, 1953, in Drogheda, Country Louth as the only child of May and carpenter Thomas Brosnan. His father abandoned the family when Brosnan was an infant. When he was four, his mother moved to London to work as a nurse.

Brosnan was educated in a local school run by the De La Salle Brothers while serving as an altar boy. On August 12, 1964, he left for Scotland to be reunited with his mother and her new husband William Carmichael. Carmichael took Brosnan to see a James Bond movie for the first time at the age of 11. 

They later moved back to London where Brosnan was educated at Elliott School in Putney. Bronson decided to be a painter and began training in commercial illustration at Saint Martin’s School of Art in London. He later attended Drama Centre London for three years. 

Brosnan rose to popularity with his television series Remington Steele (1982-1987). He then starred in films such as The Fourth Protocol in 1987, and the comedy movie Mrs. Doubtfire in 1993. 

The 69-year-old actor is best known for his role as the secret agent James Bond. He starred in four James Bond films from 1995 to 2002 (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day). 

In 1997 he was featured in Dante’s Peak. In 1997 he starred in the remake of the heist film The Thomas Crown Affair in 1999. He has also starred in films such as Mamma Mia! (2008), The Ghost Writer (2010), Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lighting Thief (2010), The November Man (2014), and Mamma Mia!’s sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018). 

Brosnan has received two Golden Globe Award nominations, first for his miniseries Nancy Astor (1982) and for the movie The Matador (2005). He formed a Los Angeles-based production company called Irish Dream Time along with American film producer Beau St. Clair in 1996.

In 1997, Brosnan received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to the film industry. He was listed as No. 15 on the Irish Times’ list of greatest Irish film actors in 2020. 

Brosnan has married twice, been widowed once, and has five children and three grandchildren.
