Lollapalooza has announced the lineup for their upcoming festivals in South America for March 2023. The festival will start in Chile on March 17 followed by Argentina from March 24 and will conclude in Brazil.  The lineup for the festivals in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil includes artists Drake, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, American rock band Blink-182, and many more artists.

Spanish singer and songwriter Rosalía will also be performing at the festival.

Who is Rosalía?

Rosalia Vila i Tobella, famously known as Rosalía was born on September 25, 1992, in Catalonia, Spain to Jose Manuel Vila and Pilar Tobella. She was raised in a small town in Barcelona. She has an elder sister, Pilar Vila, who works with her as her stylist and creative director.

Rosalía had to undergo vocal cord surgery at the age of 17 after tearing one of her vocal cords due to intensive singing practices and couldn’t sing for almost a year. After working with several artists, bands, and music groups for a couple of years, she worked as a vocal coach and a flamenco teacher when she was 20. In 2016, she began working with Spanish record producer Raul Refree and released her album, Los Angeles, in 2017, which gained her a nomination for Best New Artist at the Latin Grammy Awards.  The album was a commercial and critical success.

Following the release of her 2018 album El Mal Querer, Rosalía gained worldwide acclaim from music critics who described her album as experimental and conceptual. Rolling Stone listed the album as one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, her album being the highest-rated Spanish album on the list. The album won four Latin Grammy Awards, a Grammy Award, and several other accolades. In March 2022, she released her album Motomami, which received universal acclaim from critics and audiences and achieved the biggest debut for a Spanish-language album in the history of the streaming platform Spotify.

Rosalía has cited singers Kate Bush, Camaron de la Isla, and James Blake as her major musical influences and Shakira, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Beyonce, and Christina Aguilera as her direct musical inspirations.

Rosalía started dating Spanish rapper C. Tangana in 2016. They have written several songs together and have collaborated vocally twice. After their breakup in 2018, the couple has been referenced in each other’s songs and lyrics. Rosalía has been dating Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro since 2020.
