Stellan Skarsgard is a Swedish actor who earned huge recognition by playing the titular role in the television series Bombi Bitt och jag in 1968. Now he will be seen playing the role of Luthen Rael in the upcoming television series Andor. Skarsgard will portray a new Rebel leader who was the unknown founder of the Rebel Alliance. In the trailer we see him meeting with Mon Mothma and trying to recruit Saw Gerrera and Cassian to his new cause.

Born in 1951, in Gothenburg, Sweden, he went to the Royal Dramatic Theater. By the age of 21, he had acted in plays like Vita rum, Ett dromspel and Master Olof. In his five decades of acting career, he has acted in various Swedish films and Hollywood films including The Simple-Minded Murderer, American Playhouse: Noon Wine, and Good Evening. 

He made his Hollywood debut in 1988 with the film The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Stellan Skarsgard earned huge recognition in Hollywood after his unique performance in the 1996 film Breaking the Waves.

Apart from films, Stellan Skarsgard has also acted in many television series as well as MCU superhero movies like Thor, Thor the Dark World, and Avengers. He has also appeared in Music videos like Who Lights the Stars and Sadness Is a Blessing.

He married Sky Skarsgard in 1975. They got a divorce in 2007. Stellan Skarsgard has received various awards and accolades in his career. He won his first award in 1982, at Berlin International Film Festival and later many awards including the British Academy Television Awards, Critics Choice Television Award, European Film Academy and also a nomination for Primetime Emmy Award.
