Kyle Jacobs, singer Kellie Pickler’s husband, was found dead with an ‘apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,’ authorities said. He was 49.
“Jacobs was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot in an upstairs bedroom/office,” a representative for the Nashville Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital on Friday.
“His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide,” the statement added.

Who was Kyle Jacobs?
Kyle Jacobs was a country music songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, pianist, producer, and staff writer for Curb Music since 2003. He was born on June 26, 1973, in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Jacobs has worked with artists including Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Darius Rucker, Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Craig Morgan, Clay Walker, Scotty McCreery, and Tim McGraw. He received an Academy of Country Music Award in 2014 for his work as a producer on Lee Brice’s I Drive Your Truck.
Jacobs notably wrote Garth Brooks’ 2007 hit More Than A Memory and Tim McGraw’s Still. Jacobs has also collaborated with top writers and artists including Darius Rucker, Rachel Thibodeau, and Wynonna.
He starred alongside Picker in the docu-comedy series I Love Kellie Picker, which debuted in 2015 and proved to be ratings hit for CMT. It ran for three seasons.
Jacobs met Pickler in 2007 at a bar with some of her friends in Nashville. According to Picker, they started writing songs together the next day. She gushed over her husband in a 2016 interview on The Real on Fox. “We started writing songs the next day, and then we got hitched, well, that happened a few years later,” she said.

On June 23, 2010, Pickler announced her engagement to Jacobs who proposed to her on June 15, 2010. They got married on January 1, 2011. The couple did not have any children.
