Yuna Kim, the South Korean Olympic gold medalist figure skater, is tying the knot with Forestella singer Ko Woo Rim in Seoul this October.
Also known as Kim Yuna or Kim Yeon-ah, the 31-year-old is a retired competitive figure skater. Forbes reported that during her career, Kim was the seventh highest-paid female athlete in the world, making $9 million a year. As per The Richest, her net worth is estimated at around $21 million.
A chunk of the former figure skater’s earnings come from endorsements and advertisements, and she’s been the face of brands like Nike, Korean Air, Kookmin Bank, and Hyundai. Kim Yuna also modelled for jewellery brand J Estina.
Recently, she became the brand ambassador for Dior, the French luxury fashion house, and promoted their product on Instagram.
She became the first South Korean athlete to win a figure skating medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. As per The Korea Times, the government pays around $55,000 for each gold medal.

Kim also bagged silver at the 2014 games in Sochi, Russia.
Apart from her accomplishments in sports, Kim Yuna also recorded a duet with Lee Seung-gi, the Kpop singer, and the boy band Big Bang.
She was ranked among South Korea’s top 10 celebrities by Forbes, while Time magazine put her among the 100 most influential people in the world in the 2010s.
Kim made millions through her contracts but also gave back to society via various relief efforts in Japan, Haiti, and the Philippines. She was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2010 and donated the prize money of $27,000, from winning silver at the 2011 World Figure Skating Championships to victims of the earthquake in March 2011.

A representative from Kim’s agency said about the upcoming wedding, “In late October in Seoul, [Kim Yuna] will be getting married to vocalist Ko Woo Rim. Both Kim Yuna and Ko Woo Rim want to hold an ordinary wedding ceremony with family, close friends, and acquaintances, so we will be carrying out the ceremony in private without revealing the wedding date and wedding hall location. We ask for understanding from the fans.”
