Hollywood actors and people across world are loving Indian cuisines. Recently, a US columnist faced immense backlash on the internet for saying that Indian food is based on a single spice. Renowned personalities, including Salman Rushdie and Padma Lakshmi, spoke up about how wrong he was. The column was published in The Washington Post, which also issued a correction later.

The writer apologised for his column and said he had sounded like a “whining infantile ignorant d—head” in the article. He also corrected himself, saying “curries are spice blends, not spices.”
