French President Emmanuel Macron has sent out a message of solidarity for India through a Facebook post in Hindi and promised to help the country during this “difficult period”. India is currently witnessing the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and reeling under a shortage of oxygen supply, medicines and hospital beds.

“No one is untouched by the pandemic we are going through. We know that India is going through a difficult period. France and India have always been united and we are ready to provide our support,” Macron’s post read in Hindi.

“Solidarity is at the heart of our nation. It is at the centre of friendship between our countries. We will win together,” it read.

Through the post, Macron reassured India that medical help is on its way. He said that France will send medical equipment, ventilators and eight oxygen generators to India. Each generator can make a hospital self-sufficient for 10 years by producing oxygen from the ambient air.

“Our French companies are mobilising and they are already in greater numbers!” he said.

Notably, US, UK, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Israel and several other countries have announced urgent medical aid to the country.

World Health Organisation, as well as European Union, are also helping India to get out of the crisis.

India on Monday recorded 3.23 lakh cases and 2,771 deaths. The country has been reporting over 3 lakh COVID cases daily for over a week.
