What is hibiscus tea and how do you make it?
1 1/2 cup water, 4 red hibiscus flowers, 1/2 tbsp juice, and honey to taste.
Remove the green calyx and stamen linked to the yellow seeds. Wash the bloom under running water until it is clean.
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat. Place the cleansed hibiscus blossoms in a cup and cover with boiling water.
Allow 10-12 minutes for the flower’s fluids and colour to steep into the water.
Pour the tea through a tea strainer, add honey or syrup. If you want your tea cold, add ice cubes at this point.
