Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Monday, December 13, 2021. Gold futures were trading at Rs 48189.00 per 10 gm, up 250 points or 0.52%, in the Indian market. In global markets, gold was priced at $1,785.85 per oz.

Platinum was trading at $952.50 while palladium was trading at $1,785.50. Silver futures were trading at Rs 61179.00 per kg, up 381 points or 0.63%. In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 46,670 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 60,155 per kg on Friday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

In Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 51,560, while in Mumbai it is at Rs 47,780, according to the Goodreturns website.

The price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold in Delhi and Mumbai is at Rs 47,260 and Rs 46,780, respectively.

In Chennai, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 49,510 on Monday, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold is selling at Rs 45,390.

In Kolkata, 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 49,960, while 22-carat gold’s price is at Rs 47,260, as per the Goodreturns website.

In Chennai, the price of 1 kg of silver is at Rs 65,100 on Monday while in Delhi and Mumbai, the metal is selling at Rs 61,200.

Gold has struggled this year after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened on hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 730.80 down 0.53% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1556.00 and Rs 213.10 per Kg respectively on MCX.
