Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 47787.00 per 10 gm, up 71 points or 0.15%, in the Indian market. In global markets, gold was priced at $1,804.40 per oz.

Platinum was trading at $960.50 while palladium was trading at $1,850.50. Silver futures were trading at Rs 61680.00 per kg, down 61 points or 0.1%.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 47,170 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 62,255 per kg on Monday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

In Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 51,710, while in Mumbai it is at Rs 49,250, according to the Goodreturns website.

The price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold in Delhi and Mumbai is at Rs 47,400 and Rs 47,250, respectively.

In Chennai, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 49,640 on Tuesday, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold is selling at Rs 45,500.

In Kolkata, 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 50,510, while 22-carat gold’s price is at Rs 47,450, according to the website.

In Chennai, the price of 1 kg of silver is at Rs 66,200 on Monday, while in Delhi and Mumbai, the metal is selling at Rs 62,400.

Silver is selling at Rs 62,400 per kg in Kolkata and Bengaluru, while in Hyderabad, the metal is selling at Rs 66,200 a kg.

Gold has struggled in 2021 after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened in hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 743.45 down 0.19% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1567.70 and Rs 224.70 per Kg respectively on MCX.
