Despite
missing the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings has
retained Suresh Raina for the 2021 edition for 11 crores. 

The team, which will be led by MS Dhoni, has released several players including, Murali Vijay, Kedar Jadhav, Piyush Chawla and Monu Kumar Singh. The franchise now has 22.9 crores remaining with one overseas slot left.

Meanwhile,
Harbhajan Singh, who played for CSK in 2018 and
2019, announced that that his contract with the franchise has come
to an end.

“As my contract comes to an end with
@ChennaiIPL, playing for this team was a great experience..beautiful memories
made &some great friends which I will remember fondly for years to
come..Thank you @ChennaiIPL, management, staff and fans for a wonderful
2years.. All the best,” he tweeted on Wednesday. Singh did not play the 2020
edition due to fears of the coronavirus.

CSK
will also be missing star player Shane Watson, who announced his retirement last
year.
