The Volvo Group is a Swedish multinational manufacturing corporation headquartered in Gothenburg. The company’s shares  are listed on Nasdaq in Stockholm, Sweden.

The company was established in 1927 as a subsidiary of the reputed ball bearing manufacturing company SKF. It’s one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines. 

The Volvo Group’s brand portfolio consists of Volvo, Volvo Penta, Rokbak, Renault Trucks, Prevost, Nova Bus, Mack and Arquus. 

The first Volvo car left the assembly line on 14 April 1927, and was called Volvo ÖV 4.

“Volvo Cars’ expectation has been to grow its sales volumes for the full year 2022,” the company said in a statement. “The disturbance means the company now expects marginal growth in deliveries for the full year 2022, compared to 2021.”

The company said that the problems were not related to the war in Ukraine, but that fighting there had resulted in increasing costs for raw material, energy and freight.
