Srinath is arguably India’s fastest bowler ever, and served as a doyen of pace bowling in the country’s cricket history. During his retirement in 2003, after 11 years of fantastic gameplay, Srinath came second to legendary Kapil Dev, in terms of wickets taken.
While the wily pace bowler brought variations later in his career, Srinath gave the impression of someone who could have performed even better, if he didn’t appear fragile under pressure. Further, his stamina was also a hindrance in an otherwise respectable career.
