Akshay Kumar%u2019s forthcoming film %u2018Prithviraj%u2019 is the latest Bollywood film that has faced objection from Karni Sena, an outfit that was set up in 2006 to oppose any ‘injustice’ meted out to the Rajput community.

The Rajput organization has asked the makers to change the current name of the film to the name of the great king, Rajput Prithviraj Chauhan, on whom the film is based.
This is not the first time a Bollywood film has found itself in a row much before the release date.

%u2018Padmaavat%u2019
We all remember Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus %u2018Padmavati%u2019 that was renamed %u2018Padmaavat%u2019 after Karni Sena raised an objection.
The movie called an epic historical drama featured Deepika Padukone as Rajput queen Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as her husband Rawal Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Delhi Sultanate ruler Alauddin Khilji.

Karni Sena demanded a change of few scenes too and the controversy went to the level that Bhansali was attacked at the Jaipur set of the film by activists of Rajput organisation ‘Shri Rajput Karni Sena’.
‘Bajirao Mastani’
This historical drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali also faced problems. He faced criticism from protestors over the distortion of facts.
The song ‘Pinga’ was objected to by the descendants of the Peshwas, who claimed that Mastani and Kashibai never came across each other in the manner shown in the film.

%u2018Jodhaa Akbar%u2019
Helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the movie revolved around Mughal emperor Akbar and Rajput Princess Jodhaa Bai’s love story.
Karni Sena had claimed that facts were incorrectly shown in the film.
%u2018Goliyon ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela%u2019
An FIR against Sanjay Leela Bhansali (the director), Deepika Padukone (Leela), and Ranveer Singh (Ram) as the title of the film offended some people because of the word %u2018Ram%u2019.

The Aamir Khan starrer movie drew flak from Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad for hurting religious sentiments.
Not only that, theatres running the movie were vandalized and there were calls to stop further shows of the movie.
The movie was helmed by Rajkumar Hirani.
%u2018Laxmii%u2019
The film’s title was changed from ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ to ‘Laxmii’ after a legal notice sent by Karni Sena.

According to the notice, the film’s title was considered to be disrespectful to Goddess Laxmi, thereby hurting the Hindu community’s sentiments.
