Probably the Bollywood bride who went the most viral by the end of this year, Katrina Kaif stole the spotlight as the bride of all brides, with her stunning Sabyasachi red silk lehenga with velvet borders. The 38-year-old actor also adorned a sparkly gold choker necklace with a matha patti and a nath. To add more sparkle, Katrina also added customised dove kaleeras that had bible references. Like they say, it’s all in the details.

2.  Ankita Lokhande

December truly was the month of Bollywood brides, with the much talked about overlapping weddings of Katrina Kaif and television actor Ankita Lokhande. While both the brides share the same husband name, Ankita took gold to a whole new level by wearing a gleaming golden lehenga, courtesy of fashion designer Manish Malhotra. The ‘Pavitra Rishta’ star completed the bridal look with a heavily embellished net veil.

While some brides like to go all out with their wedding ensemble, others prefer taking the simplicity route. The Uri star decided to pick a sentimental piece of clothing over a sparkly one, by wearing her mother’s red saree as her wedding outfit. To top it off, Yami added a traditional Himachali nath from her grandmother. She instantly won hearts on social media for her simple yet beautiful look, with many fans applauding her simplicity and lack of ostentation.

Film producer and sibling of Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor made headlines after her intimate wedding with Karan Boolani. Rhea picked a white chanderi saree as a wedding ensemble, with a veil made from thousands of pearls. The ‘Veere Di Wedding’ producer chose to style her mother’s traditional jewellery for her big day.

5.  Patralekha Paul

Actor and wife of Rajkummar Rao, Patrelekha Paul wore an embellished red Sabyasachi saree on her wedding day. The ones who got a closer look at her veil saw a Bengali sentence inscribed that read, “Amar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomaye somorpan korilam” (I surrender my heartfelt love to you). The duo went viral soon after their wedding pictures surfaced on the internet. Another instance that went viral was of Patralekha putting vermillion on Rajkummar Rao’s forehead. Her act inspired many brides to do their own bit in shattering gender stereotypes.
