A team of Delhi Police Special cell is carrying out a search at the Twitter India office in Delhi, news agency ANI reported. The two teams of Special Cell were at the Twitter India offices located in Delhi’s Lado Sarai and Gurgaon. The visits were in connection with the probe into the ‘toolkit‘ matter, he said.

“The Delhi police team went to the Twitter office to serve a notice to Twitter, as part of a routine process. This was necessitated as we wanted to ascertain who is the right person to serve a notice, as replies by Twitter India MD have been very ambiguous,” news agency PTI quoted Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal as saying.

Earlier today, the Special Cell sent a notice to Twitter in connection with a probe on the ‘toolkit as manipulation media’ matter.

The Delhi Police has sought clarification from Twitter on labelling a tweet by BJP leader Sambit Patra as manipulative. An official said that Twitter has some information on why the tweet was classified as such, which is not known to them.

Recently, Twitter labelled a tweet of Sambit Patra as “manipulated media” a tweet of Patra on the toolkit allegedly prepared by Congress to target the Narendra Modi government.

Refusing the allegation, Congress on Thursday had written to Twitter, seeking complete suspension of Twitter accounts of BJP president JP Nadda, Union minister Smriti Irani, Patra and other BJP leaders for allegedly “spreading misinformation and unrest in the society”.

The Congress had said the toolkit documents flagged by the BJP are “fake” and has filed a police complaint against its leaders.

The BJP has been attacking Congress over some controversial content of the so-called ‘COVID‘ toolkit.
