Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 48,683.00 per 10 gm, up.23 points or 0.05%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 62,789.00 per kg, up 101 points or 0.16%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,832.13 per oz. Platinum was trading at $1,027.00 while palladium was trading at $2,287.50.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 47,500 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 62,387 per kg on Wednesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

In Mumbai and Kolkata, ten grams of 22-carat gold is being sold at Rs 54,550, as per the Good Returns website. While in Chennai and New Delhi, the 10 grams of 22-carat purity is priced at Rs 45,780 and Rs 45,410, respectively.

Coming to the price of 24-carat gold, in New Delhi and Kolkata, 10 grams of it is being purchased at Rs 49,540. While the same quantity of 24-carat purity in Chennai and Mumbai is valued at Rs 49,950 and Rs 49,690.

Meanwhile, in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kerala 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being traded at Rs 45,550. However, the same amount of 24-carat purity is being sold at Rs 49,690 in the above cities.

In Patna, Nagpur and Chandigarh, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being procured at Rs 45,360, Rs 45,550, Rs 46,110, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being procured at Rs 49,510, Rs 49,690 and Rs 49,210 in the above respective cities.

In Nashik and Mysore, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being traded at Rs 45,360 and Rs 45,550. Similarly, 10 grams of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 49,510 and Rs 49,690.

Gold has struggled in 2021 after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened in hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 783.70 up 1.48% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1,777.00 and Rs 263.00 per Kg respectively on MCX.
