Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in a nail-biting contest thanks to some last moment heroics by Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag.

Tewatia, who had hit five sixes in an over against Kings XI Punjab, once again took charge and smashed an unbeaten 45 off 28 balls along with youngster Parag who scored 42 not out off 26 balls.

Earlier, top-order collapse had reduced  to 78 for 5 in 12 overs, which started after an out of the box decision to send Ben Stokes to open back-fired. Then Steve Smith got run out followed by Jos Buttler. Tewatia and Parag were off to a slow start in between but gained momentum in the 16th over.

SRH had set a target of 159 for RR to chase in match 26 of Indian Premier League 2020. Openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow failed to repeat their opening stand heroics after one of the slowest starts thanks to a fiery spell by Jofra Archer. A half-century from Manish Pandey helped SRH to a score of 158.

SRH had suffered back-to-back defeats but thanks to Jonny Bairstow’s 97 off 55 and three wickets by Rashid Khan, it was able to defeat Kings XI Punjab by a whopping 69 runs. However SRH’s middle-order woes continued in the last match as well with Kane Williamson being the only dependable batsman.

On the other hand Rajasthan Royals were on a four-match losing streak. Despite some brilliant bowling in the previous match, RR batsmen failed to contribute apart from  Tewatia and Yashasvi Jaiswal and ended up losing by a big margin of 46 runs to Delhi Capitals.
