Indians’
youngster Ishan Kishan has scored the fastest half century of the
latest edition of the Indian Premier League. He scored 50 runs in just 16 balls
with a strike rate of over 300.

It is the
fifth fastest half-century in the history of IPL. Kishan sits just behind KL
Rahul
, Yusuf Pathan, Sunil Narine and Suresh Raina on the list. He hit
eight fours and two sixes to reach the mark.

Two bowlers
who were targeted in particular were Mohammed Nabi and Siddharth Kaul. The
batter smashed four consecutive boundaries in Kaul’s over and Afghani bowler
Nabi was not spared either.

His mesmerizing knock came to a halt on 84 runs scored in 32 runs. He was caught by Wriddhiman Saha on Umran Malik’s delivery.

The feat was achieved in the 55th clash of IPL 2021 between Mumbai Indians and
Sunrisers Hyderabad held at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The men in blue are battling
for the final spot in the play-offs.

Mumbai
needs to find a way to beat SRH by a margin of at least 171 runs or more to
snatch the fourth spot in the IPL table from present occupants Kolkata Knight
Riders
.

The task
seems impossible to achieve but if any team is capable of doing so, then it is
the defending champions.

Hyderabad was
the first team to get knocked out of the competition and managed just three
wins in thirteen fixtures before the encounter against Mumbai.

The 23-year-old
had a slow start to this season but looks to be back in form just in time for
the T20 World Cup.

In the side’s
last fixture against Rajasthan Royals, he scored 50 runs in 25 balls (unbeaten).
Ishan’s knock was instrumental in maintaining his side’s hopes for a top four
finish.

Kishan has
made a strong comeback since being dropped from the after a string of poor
performances. Rohit Sharma’s side put their trust in the youngster before entering
the do-or-die phase of the competition.

mentality has been commendable and after looking at performances like these, it
