Writer-director Keith Gomes’ short
film ‘Shameless’ has been selected as India’s only entry in Oscars 2021 under
the ‘Live Action Short Film’ category. The director of the film Gomes thanked
the cast and the crew of the film.

“I have to thank my
incredible cast and my crew of National and Oscar award winners. I make films
with little funding from family and friends, everyone comes together with loads
of love and passion. Couldn’t be more blessed,” news agency ANI quoted Gomes as saying.

Other films included in the
five-film list were Shaan Vyas’ ‘Natkhat’, Aditya Kelgaonkar’s ‘Sound proof’ and other short films, including ‘Safar’ and ‘Trapped’.

The Sayani Gupta, Hussain Dalal
and Rishabh Kappor-starrer dives deep into the theme of technological overpowering
of human experiences, effecting into loss of human spirit.

The film has a playtime of 15
minutes and encircles a work-from-employee played by Dalal, who, after constantly
ordering food online, wakes up and is immediately met by a pizza delivery girl
who is perpetually in an apologetic and exasperated state, played by Sayani
Gupta.

The film bagged the third place
at the Best of India Short Film Festival that concluded recently, and is
produced by Ashley Gomes and national award winner Sandeep Kamal. Sound for the
film has been designed by Resul Pookutty.
