Opposition parties and leaders on Tuesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his address to the nation over the COVID-19 situation, saying he did not speak on concerns surrounding vaccines and lockdown in detail.

“The Prime Minister has completely failed to provide a sense of safety, direction or leadership during this massive human crisis we are facing. Will he take responsibility of the bad planning and incompetence of his government?” INC tweeted her statement.

Congress also commented saying that the country needs a solution and not the Prime Minister’s knowledge.

“I was hoping that PM in his address would announce free vaccine for every citizen. PM didn’t mention anything on how much the vaccine production capacity will be boosted and on the number of vaccine doses to be given to states after that,” ANI quotes Deo.

Mallikarjun Kharge, an INC Rajya Sabha member, went on to say,, Seems like the PM @narendramodi did his routine “pravachan” rather than assuring the nation on the way forward on the health crisis that the nation faces. It has not infused any confidence in the people. The nation was expecting better….”

In his address Narendra Modi described the second wave of coronavirus as ‘ a storm’ that has hit India. He expressed his sympathies to the families of those who died of the disease and also said that lockdown is the last resort.
