A 45 seconds video of a baby elephant reuniting with her mother is making rounds on social media for all the good reasons . Tamil Nadu forest team escorted the calf in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Nilgiris, and the social media is full of praises for their efforts and strength.

In a tweet, Indian Forest Service officer Sudha Ramen said, “This little calf happily walks to get reunited with its mother guarded with Z+ security of the Tamilnadu Foresters team. Earlier, the calf was found alone and injured. TN forest team rescued, treated, and escorts the little one to join with the mother.”

The baby elephant was stuck in the mud in the Cherambadi forest range, following which forest officials attempted to reunite the elephant with its herd. Supriya Sahu IAS, Principal Secretary, Environment Climate Change & Forests, Tamil Nadu government, tweeted,” Incredible outpouring of love on the kutty baby elephant who was reunited with the herd by #TNForesters. The kutty blows a big trumpet while approaching the mother. Well done Sachin, Venqatesh Prabhu,Prasad, Vijay ,George Praveenson, Thamba Kumar,Aneesh Kumar, & APW teams Pandalur.”

Elephants migrate over different places, and this has further created problems in the situation. The man-animal conflict is one of the critical challenges.

Humans expect wild animals to stay in their natural habitat, protected areas. Still, species come out of these refuges for food because of various issues such as fragmentation and degradation of the natural habitat.

Relocating the elephants in their herd is challenging; the forest department did commendable work on their duty. The video has gained a massive number of views and tweets on social media platforms praising the efforts of the forest task force.
