Recently, a video surfaced on all social media platforms showed how a Delhi-based YouTuber tried to fly his pet dog by tying a bunch of helium balloons around him. The case of sheer callousness and animal cruelty has earned massive criticism from the netizens.

The accused, Gaurav Sharma, is a 27-year-old YouTuber. He has 4.15 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. The channel is called %u2018GauravZone%u2019. Gaurav is a resident of Panchsheel Vihar in south Delhi%u2019s Malviya Nagar.

In the video shot on May 21, now-deleted, Gaurav can be seen in a park, along with his mother and Dollar, his pet dog. A bunch of colourful hydrogen balloons can also be seen tied to the dog’s upper body.

The video uploaded by the 27-year-old YouTuber went viral on various social media platforms. Following which a case has been registered by the Delhi Police against Gaurav and his mother who accompanied him in carrying out this act.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Kumar Thakur told The Print that on the complaint of Gaurav Gupta, a member of People for Animals Society, Sharma has been charged under section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code, the Disaster Management Act and relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act.

Gaurav was later arrested by Delhi Police following the incident, Indian Express reports. 

After receiving massive criticism for the video, on the very next day, the accused, Gaurav Sharma uploaded another video apologising for his act.

“Before making the video, I had taken all the safety measures. I had said this in the video but did not upload this part as it would’ve increased the length of the video. It was a mistake on my part. All I want to say is that I had made the video with all the safety measures… wrong content went out and it should not have happened,” NDTV quoted him as saying in the video.
