India recorded 196,427 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the nation’s tally of COVID-19 cases to 26,948,874. On Monday, With 3,511 COVID-19 deaths, India sees dip in toll, which took the death toll to 307,231. There are currently 2,586,782 active cases in India.

A total of 326,850 people recovered on Monday, taking the tally of recovered COVID-19 cases in the country to 24,054,861.

20,58,112 samples for COVID-19 were tested across India in the past 24 hours, the Indian Council of Medical Research said on Tuesday. As of May 24, 33,25,94,176 samples for COVID-19 have been tested across India.

India kicked off its mass vaccination drive against COVID-19 on January 16 and as of May 25, over 196 million people have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

On May 14, India administered its first foreign-made vaccine dose of Russia’s Sputnik V. India is now administering three COVID-19 vaccines, including Covaxin and Covishield.
