Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, was spotted wearing legendary quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick‘s jersey ahead of the Week 13 Thursday Night Football game against the New England Patriots. The game is played at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

Fitzpatrick will be present at the venue to serve as an analyst for Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime.

Allen wore the no 14 jersey of Fitzpatrick who played for the team from 2009 to 2012.

Although Allen’s decision to wear Fitzpatrick’s jersey hasn’t been made revealed, some may wonder if the Bills quarterback is paying homage to Fitzpatrick from a popular video of the Bills-Patriots game from last season.

The AFC Wild Card game between the two teams back in January was attended by the retired quarterback. Fitzpatrick made the decision to remove his shirt while toasting the victory of his former team, the Bills, who won 47-17.

The Amazon Analyst revealed to Adam Schefter of ESPN in 2020 which city is his favorite place to play for. He responded, “Buffalo,” when asked.

Ryan Fitzpatrick’s career with the Bills:

Fitzpatrick’s competitive but erratic performances earned him the moniker “Fitzmagic” and “Fitztragic.” He is the NFL quarterback with the most passing yards and touchdowns without ever having played in the postseason.

Fitzpatrick and the Buffalo Bills agreed to a three-year, $7.4 million contract on February 27, 2009.

He was officially announced as the starting quarterback of the Buffalo Bills on November 18, 2009, by Perry Fewell, the team’s interim head coach who took over after Dick Jauron was fired. Fitzpatrick finished the 2009 season with 1,422 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and ten interceptions overall. Fitzpatrick had a breakout season in 2010, recording at least one touchdown pass in 13 straight games to post a stat line of 3,000 passing yards with 23 TDs and 15 interceptions. Fitzpatrick’s teams went 4-9 while he was the quarterback.

Fitzpatrick and the Bills agreed to a six-year, $59 million contract extension on October 28, 2011, which also included a $10 million signing bonus. With 3,832 yards and 24 touchdowns in his final game of 2011, Fitzpatrick also threw a league-high 23 interceptions. In his second year as the team’s starting quarterback in 2012, Fitzpatrick threw for 3,400 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions.
