NFL side Buffalo Bills have announced that their players will be wearing a #3 patch on their jerseys to support injured teammate Damar Hamlin during their Week 18 game vs the New England Patriots.

For the team’s pregame warm-ups, the Bills will wear Nike t-shirts with Love for Damar 3 written on them. Apart from this, the team’s business staff will also be wearing #3 lapel pins. 

Buffalo Bills tweeted ” We’ll be wearing a special “3” patch on Sunday for our guy @HamlinIsland. There will be a number of tributes for Damar Hamlin across the NFL during Week 18″. 

Hamlin had suffered a cardiac arrest on Monday during their game vs the Cincinnati Bengals after he was involved in a collision with the latter’s wide receiver, Tee Higgins.

He had to be resuscitated on the field before an ambulance rushed in and took him to the hospital. Hamlin had to be resuscitated again in the hospital, one of his uncles later revealed to CNN.

Buffalo Bills gave an update about the player’s health: “Per the physicians at UCMC, Damar’s breathing tube was removed overnight. He continues to progress remarkably in his recovery. His neurologic function remains intact and he has been able to talk to his family and care team.”

The team on January 3 wrote on Twitter, “The thoughts and prayers of all of Bills Mafia are supporting you, Damar.”

Damar’s family released a statement on January 3 through the player’s marketing representative, Jordon Rooney’s Twitter account and wrote, “Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us”. The statement also stated, “Please keep Damar in your prayers.”

According to his team, Hamlin FaceTimed during Buffalo Bills’ team meeting on Friday, January 6 and talked to the players and coaches. He said “Love you boys” to the team. 

Damar’s millions of fans are praying for the player’s speedy recovery.
