Wide receiver DeSean Jackson is officially retiring from the NFL, according to a statement released by the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.

DeSean Jackson, who turns 37 on Friday, had a remarkable 15-year NFL career as a wide receiver, with eight seasons spent with the Eagles accounting for most of his accomplishments.

The Eagles have announced that Jackson would retire as an Eagle on Friday, according to an NBC story. He will also receive recognition on Sunday in Philadelphia during the team’s game against the San Francisco 49ers as the team’s honorary captain.
