He was one lucky fan, who happened to be at the right place, at the right time. Chasing a target of 217 set by Rajasthan Royals, Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit a huge six that not only cleared the boundary but also the stadium, landing on the road outside the IPL 2020 venue in UAE.

As cameras followed the ball it went up, up and out of the stadium, landing on a road with moving traffic. A man was seen collecting the ball and running with a big smile on his face.

The ball wasn’t returned, understandably so, and one of the commentators said, “The fan is not going to return it. He will keep the ball as a prized possession for a lifetime.” The IPL official twitter handle also commented on the incident posting, “That’s one lucky man who gets the ball that was hit by MS Dhoni for a mighty six.”

‘Captain cool’ Dhoni came into bat when CSK needed 103 runs off 38 balls. When the race boiled down to almost impossible 38 off the last six deliveries, the captain tried to hit a few big ones, hammering three consecutive sixes off Curran. One of those landed at the feet of the lucky passer-by. But, Dhoni’s and CSK’s efforts fell short by 16 runs, though the captain ended with 29 off 17 balls.
