Since his December 4 performance against Tom Brady’s Miami Dolphins, the San Francisco rookie quarterback Brock Purdy has made a name for himself. Having impressed the 49ers fans with his play, he now has a nickname- “Big Cok Brock”.

As Purdy got a start against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL wild-card game at Levi’s Stadium on Saturday- the first-ever rookie quarterback to do so, the 49ers fans turned up at the stadium with placards that had Purdy’s (slightly vulgar) new nickname in full display. The poster got highlighted even further as the QB scored a touchdown against the Seahawks.

Brock Purdy was the Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft, but after filling in the shoes of first-choice quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo once the latter got injured early in December 2022, Purdy has been nothing short of excellent.

Such has been his performance that fans have started believing that the rookie quarterback can deliver the Super Bowl.

“I’m calling it right now if the 49ers win the Super Bowl there’s gonna be a commercial of Brock Purdy with the words “Mr. Irrelevant” at the top of the screen and it will end with Purdy hoisting the Lombardi trophy and blocking out the “Ir”. a fan said.

“Let’s imagine, and it would not be difficult to do, that Brock Purdy leads the 49ers to a Super Bowl victory. Would that mean he would be the starting quarterback next year?” another wondered.

“Really looking forward to the Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence match-up in the Super Bowl. Mr. Irrelevant against a former #1 overall pick. It’s gonna be good TV,” wrote one on Twitter.
