Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the spot to equalize for Riyadh 11, against Lionel Messi‘s PSG at the King Fahd International Stadium on Thursday.
Paris goalkeeper Keylor Navas was awarded a yellow card for clipping Ronaldo in the head. The 37-year-old took a hard hit and his face appeared to be swollen.
However, he scored a key penalty to take the game to 1-1.
“The rigged it so bad for Ronaldo lol, had to be a pointless foul and penalty, some things never change,” a Twitter user said. Another wrote, “Has to be a penalty. Keeper took out Ronaldo and got nothing on the ball.” A third stated, “Did Ronaldo just Siuuu a 1-1 equalizer in a friendly?”

One more noted, “Messi scoring and Ronaldo equalizing with a penalty. Years go on but the story is the same.” Another said, “When you cant call Ronaldo a penalty merchant because your goat won the World Cup with penalties.” A Twitter user commented, “Ronaldo did the SIU after scoring a penalty in a meaningless friendly match. This guy’s level of shamelessness is beyond me.”
After conceding an early goal, Riyadh Season’s defending has been quite compact as PSG players are having a bit of difficulty getting through them. Messi is controlling the show for PSG with his dribbling and passes, while Ronaldo has also displayed flashes of his mastery.
There was a good start to the game as both teams were looking for goals. PSG already got one. Ronaldo was also trying to create some problems for Paris Saint-Germain but the French giants were strong at the back with Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos.
