Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens grabbed a fumble in the first quarter and raced 27 yards to score a touchdown in an unexpected turn of events on Thanksgiving. 

The PAT was missed, but Green Bay overcame it to lead the Detroit Lions 20–6.

The touchdown by Owens was celebrated by a lot of social media users along with his wife, Simone Biles. She reacted to the TD and tweeted, “THATS MY HUSBAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY MANS MY MANS MY MANSSSSS🥹🥹🥹🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 LFGGGGGGOOOOOOO!”

Several fans reacted to the tweet and touchdown. One user wrote, “Great play his continuation was smart football 🏈”

“Your husband making you proud big time !!! LOVE IT !!!” another user wrote.

Jonathan Owens, the husband of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, gained notoriety on Thanksgiving for an incredible play. In April 2023, the pair exchanged vows.

Owens showcased his athletic abilities in football, basketball, and track while attending Francis Howell High School in Cottleville. Owens was a standout player in two sports, track and football, earning all-conference recognition in both. After that, he played college football for Missouri Western State University, starting three seasons as a safety. In 2017, he was selected to the All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Second Team.

In August 2019, Owens was released by the Arizona Cardinals after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2018. In September 2019, he was added to the Houston Texans practice squad, and in December 2021, he was moved up to the active roster.

Owens signed with the Green Bay Packers in March of 2022. Among his accomplishments are 13 games played, 11 starts, 57 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. His spectacular touchdown on Thanksgiving added yet another high point to his developing football career.
