Grupo Firme performed at the half-time of the Week 11 Monday Night Football game between the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. The game is played at the Estadio Azteca stadium in Mexico.

They have been nominated for several awards, including the Premios Juventud and the Premio Lo Nuestro.

The performance received boos from the crowd. This was not normal for the Mexican crowd to do so.

After seeing the disapproval from the home fans, fans on Twitter chimed in to express their thoughts.

The translation for the tweet is, “Applause for the fans at the Azteca Stadium who made their annoyance known by booing Grupo Firme.”

Mexican singer and songwriter, Sofia Reyes sung the National Anthem before the game. The anthem alludes to ‘cries of defense of the homeland and references to historical Mexican military victories in the heat of battle.’

Boxer Canelo Alvarez was also present at the venue and met various players.

At the end of the first half, the 49ers lead the game 17-10. During the first 30 minutes, QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw two touchdown passes, one to fan-favorite tight end George Kittle and the other to wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

International games are a way for the NFL to promote the sport outside of the United States, and Mexico has been chosen as a venue before. In fact, these two teams met in the NFL’s first regular season game played outside of the United States in 2005. That game was also held at the same venue.

The game is the final of the NFL’s five international games scheduled for this year. The first three were held in London, while the fourth was held last weekend in Germany, with the Seattle Seahawks taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
