Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been in spectacular form in the last few months and turned hero in their last match in the Asia Cup 2022 against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium. The 28-year-old’s heroics against Pakistan in the Asia Cup campaign opener has now been rewarded in the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Hardik Pandya was adjudged the Player of the Match against Pakistan for his 33 runs off 17 balls knock and 3/25 bowling figure. It helped him climb eight places in the list to the fifth position, his career-best ranking.

Pandya currently has 167 points and is occupying the fifth position in the all-rounders’ list of the recent ICC rankings. The list is led by Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi with 257 points. Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh (245), Moeen Ali of England (221), Glenn Maxwell of Australia (183) are the other players inside the top five.

The all-rounder is the only Indian cricketer in the top 20 of the latest ICC T20I all-rounder rankings. Only England (2), Namibia (3) and Zimbabwe (4) are the teams with more than one all-rounder in the top 20 spots of the new ICC list.

For bowling, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has gained two spots to third place and has displaced England’s Adil Rashid and Australia’s Adam Zampa to the fourth and fifth places respectively. Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood is leading the chart for T20I bowling rankings.

India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar is in eighth place in the rankings, which remains unchanged. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal has lost a place to the 24th spot, Harshal Patel remains unchanged at the 29th spot and Jasprit Bumrah in the 37th spot after losing a place.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who was dismissed for only 10 runs against India on August 28, has kept his top spot intact in the batting rankings. India’s Suryakumar Yadav is in the third position with 792 points behind Mohammad Rizwan in the second place with 796 points. KL Rahul has gained a spot to the 28th place while Virat Kohli lost a place and is currently at the 37th spot.
