Virat Kohli has looked full of confidence since the Asia Cup 2022 began. The former Indian captain scored 35 off 34 balls against Pakistan in the group stages, before hitting an undefeated 59 off 44 balls against Hong Kong.

The Indian maverick is expected to replicate his performance against Pakistan in the Super 4 on Sunday, September 4, once again. Added to it, he also has the chance of scripting yet another record against Pakistan on Sunday, after he became the first Indian cricketer to play 100 T20I matches recently.

Kohli played some well-timed shots against both Pakistan and Hong Kong, which resulted in the fans claiming he has finally left his slump behind. He hit three boundaries and one over-boundary against Pakistan. Kohli continued against Hong Kong with one boundary and three sixes, taking his total number of sixes in T20I cricket to 97.

If Virat Kohli manages to hit three over boundaries against Pakistan on Sunday, he will become the second Indian batter to hit 100 sixes in T20I cricket. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is the only Indian cricketer to have 100 sixes in his kitty and is also the Indian player with the highest T20I sixes with 165.

If Virat manages to hit three sixes against Pakistan on Sunday, he will become the second Indian and 10th cricketer overall to join an elite club of cricketers with 100 or more sixes in T20I matches.

Apart from Rohit, eight more batters have managed to hit 100 or more over boundaries in T20I cricket matches in the history of the sport. Meanwhile, two more batters other than Kohli are currently chasing the record, Glenn Maxwell of Australia and Kieron Pollard of West Indies, both of whom are tied at 99.

Former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill is at the top of the list with 172 sixes, followed by Rohit Sharma (165). Other than these two, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Eoin Morgan, Colin Munro, David Warner, Aaron Finch and Paul Stirling are the other players who have 100 or more T20I sixes.
