Zach Wilson struggled throughout the Thursday Night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Crowds booed the New York Jets quarterback and he was trolled on social media. Head coach Robert Saleh had to substitute him late in the third quarter and bring Chris Streveler on.

The Jaguars won 19-3 at the MetLife Stadium.

Wilson, the No 2 draft pick last year, went 9 of 18 for 82 yards with an interception and a dismal 41.9 rating for the Jets (7-8). The team’s playoff hopes have taken a big hit with their fourth straight loss.

Playing in the team’s regular-season home finale, Wilson started the game by throwing a pass that was almost picked. He then crumbled under pressure to make an incomplete one. By then, boos had already started filling the MetLife Stadium.

The New York quarterback returned from a three-game benching streak last week after Mike White was injured. The team lost 20-17 to the Detroit LIons.

On Thursday, the Jets had just 66 yards of offense in the first half and three first downs. Wilson was intercepted by Devin Lloyd on a Hail Mary just before halftime.

“This is a legendary Zach Wilson performance. I don’t know if it’s possible to have a worse fan experience at a home NFL game unless the Jets were also shooting dog shit into the stands with a T-shirt cannon,” a Twitter user said.

“zach wilson has lost the trust of the Jet fanbase. im not saying it’s impossible. it will be very hard to regain their trust again. i witnessed these same boos when brett farve was under center,” another one added.

Streveler completed 10 of his 15 attempted passes against the Jaguars for 90 yards.

Mike White, who broke a couple of ribs against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14, should be back next week. With him available and Streveler as an option, it will be fair to say that Zach Wilson is done for the season.

Robert Saleh however said that, “We haven’t seen the last of him.”

In NFL 2022, Wilson has attempted 242 passes so far, completing 132 of them for 1,668 passing yards and 6 touchdowns. He has thrown for seven interceptions and has a QB rating of 72.47 in nine games.
