Memphis Grizzlies superstar guard Ja Morant‘s father Tee Morant got into an argument with NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe  during the Los Angeles Lakers vs Memphis Grizzlies game at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Friday. Sharpe and Tee eventually hugged it out before the start of the fourth quarter.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Ja Morant’s family – 

Ja Morant was born on the August 10, 1999, in Dalzell, South Carolina.

His Tee Morant was the high school teammate of Ray Allen and also played basketball for Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. 

Ja’s mother, Jamie Morant, was a point guard in high school. She was also a softball player in college.

“Most people think he gets his athletic skills from his dad, but everything besides the dunking is all me,” Jamie said in an interview with Memphis Flyer.

“Being a point guard and playing certain positions I played in softball — you have to be the team leader, love what you’re doing, and be mentally tough because everything will fall on you,” she added.

Tee and Jamie have two children. Ja has a younger sister named Teniya Morant, who is also interested in basketball. The siblings enjoyed playing the game together in backyard of their home while growing up. 

“As a mother, I instilled the basic principles of being a great person to my kids. Be polite, respectful, don’t see color, focus on your education, set goals and focus on them, work hard for what you want,” she told the outlet. 

“But as a parent all we can do is hope that they carry that info along with them throughout their life’s journey,” she added. 

Ja and his ex-girlfriend KK Dixon began dating in 2018 before calling it quits. They have a daughter named in Kaari J. Morant. The child was born in 2019 and has an Instagram profiel @kaarimorant.
