Officials confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday that YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul and former UFC bad boy Nate Diaz would square off in a boxing contest on August 5 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The fight will be fought at 185 pounds with 10-ounce gloves over eight rounds. DAZN will provide worldwide distribution for the pay-per-view fight.

Since Nate’s announcement of his collaboration with the Professional Fighters League, Jake has been itching to challenge him to a boxing match AND an MMA fight. He even called Diaz out after defeating Anderson Silva in October 2022, seeking him on two different occasions.

“My last fight didn’t end the way I wanted, but the result was the best thing that could have happened to my professional boxing aspirations,” Paul said in a statement. “Now, the world thinks I am vulnerable when all I am is more focused than ever. My team wanted me to take an easy fight … but that’s not how I am built. Nate Diaz is considered one of the (toughest) fighters of all time, but he and his team have been running their mouths for too long.”
