Josh Allen had a chance to seal Buffalo Bills’ seventh win of the season. In the final seconds of overtime, last play, in the Week 10 tie vs Minnesota Vikings, the quarterback threw a red zone interception to let Kirk Cousins and co take the game 33-30 at the Bills Stadium.

Allen’s participation vs Vikings was unclear after he hurt his right – throwing – elbow in the final minutes of a 20-17 loss at the New York Jets. He was listed as questionable to play after practicing on a limited basis on Friday. The QB had missed the previous two practices.

However, the 2022 MVP contender started. Early touchdowns ensured that the Bills were 24-10 at halftime.

The Vikings then scripted a comeback to remember. Minnesota recovered from a 17-point third-quarter deficit and Greg Joseph’s 33-yard field goal with 3:42 left in overtime took them in lead. 

With 50 seconds left in regulation, QB Kirk Cousins was stopped at Buffalo 1. It looked like the Bills were ready to seal a 27-23 win when Allen fumbled the snap and Eric Kendricks recovered it in the end zone with 37 seconds left. The score was 30-27, favouring Minnesota.

A 29-yard field goal by Tyler Bass with two seconds left took the game to overtime. 

After some tiring play in OT, Josh Allen was ready to throw a game-winning TD. Instead, he threw an interception. He now has thrown four red zone INTs in the last two weeks and given Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes a clear advantage in the MVP race. He now has the most interceptions this season – 10.

“Guys, it’s okay to be critical of Josh Allen. He hasn’t played to the caliber he’s capable of playing. I believe he’ll get back to that level, but he forced a throw he shouldn’t be forcing,” a Twitter user said. 

“That was the most visibly upset I have ever seen Josh Allen after a loss,” another one added.
