Kylian Mbappe of France and Achraf Hakimi of Morocco – club teammates at PSG, hugged in the tunnel before the FIFA World Cup 2022 semi-final match at the AL Bayt stadium on Wednesday.

The French speedster often described Hakimi as one of his closest friends in the PSG squad. He has also praised Morocco’s run in the FIFA World Cup 2022 as well as Achraf Hakimi’s performance in the matches.

He even posted a tweet for his friend just when Morocco beat Portugal in the quarter-final and set up a date with the Les Blues in the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup.

Morocco already created history by becoming the first African team ever to reach a FIFA World Cup semi-final.

If they manage to defeat the defending champions today, they will create even more history by becoming the first African team to reach the final of a FIFA World Cup. 

However, if Morocco lose today, they will still have a chance to play for the third place against Croatia on December 17, 2022.

They have been defensively strong throughout the tournament and it is only in the semi-final against France that a player of an opponent team managed to score a goal against them. 

Unlike what Morocco would have expected the goal came at the fifth minute of the match, thanks to a header by defender Theo Hernandez.
